Fabulous Baby Shower Gifts of Love and Labor
A good friend of mine received one of the most wonderful gifts ever at her baby shower - cleaning service. I can’t remember if it was more than a month, but even one deep cleaning service would be a fabulous “baby gift”. Before you spend the money, you could work with the new dad to have the new happy family out of the house for a couple of hours. It’s also probably not a bad idea to make sure mom is comfortable having some one else come in and clean her place.
Another thoughtful gift is co-ordinating a week of dinners for the family for the first week of baby’s life (neighbors and family can each take a night). I think that it would be cool to leave it on the doorstep, ring the doorbell, and run away! This way, you’re giving the family their private bonding time and are truly providing a thoughtful gift that will be SO appreciated. There’s nothing like giving the new parents a break!
