Screaming. Crying. Not Sleeping. Colic. Teething. Growing Spurts. Many of us have had to deal with fussy babies for one, or more, of these reasons. For us, our daughter had colic. I know I’ve written about it before because events like that really stick with you. I could drive all the way across town with her screaming at the top of her lungs. I would dream of her little face, beet red, mouth open and screaming in pain!
What worked for us was the holistic route - infant massage, an infant acupuncture treatment (no puncturing involved) and a few drops of the right herbs and that baby was turned around (thank you forever Nicole).
The problems and solutions are different for every baby, which is why I think that fussybaby.ca is a particularly useful site for parents of, well, fussy babies! There are links to a ton of articles, so if you are dealing with a lot of crying and screaming right now, it’s very likely you’ll find some useful information on that site.
If’ it’s good old-fashion swaddling that your baby needs, the b*Fab stroller blankets are the perfect size and they are extra snuggly to boot!! Use the interactive blanket designer to make and view your design choices. (Chris Noth (”Mr. Big”; Sex and the City) is holding the Blue Stripes “Name in Brights” blanket in the picture to the right).
If you have questions about infant massage or any infant health issues, I can not recommend Nicole McInerney, L.Ac., CIMI enough.
