This is something that I share with all of my newly-pregnant friends who are experiencing morning sickness for the first time: keep your stomach full and smell fresh lemons. Even lemon tea is refreshing.

I consider myself to be somewhat of an expert on morning sickness because I suffered it during both of my pregnancies, for almost the full 9 months each time. There is absolutely nothing in the world like naseau for 9 months, and even though I was never able to make it go away, I know all the remedies. For some reason, the smell of fresh lemons could temporarily relieve the naseau, maybe it just took my mind off it, I don’t know. I developed a routine of snacking on small foods all day, taking a 10-minute mid-afternoon power nap, and then treating myself to some lemon tea when I woke up. Refreshing and took the grogginess away. And it isn’t just me - this is a remedy that I read on some website when I was desperate for remedies to make my computer screen stop swooning.

Here’s a pack of other morning sickness remedies you might try:

  • Don’t roll over, or move at all, in the morning before you’ve at least had a bite of saltine crackers (I would have my husband get me a cup of dry cheerios).
  • Sea-sickness bands (for your wrist)
  • Ginger - chrystallized ginger, usually available at whole food markets
  • Ginger Tea
  • Plenty of rest

Luckily, morning sickness usually resides around the 12th week of pregnancy!!
