We have seen a lot of unique names since launching the Name in Brights personalized baby blankets. We also get a good feel for what names are popular by which names we see over and over again. Even still, I don’t seem to get very far playing the baby name game you can find here on LilSugar.com. In the fun baby name popularity guessing game, you are presented with two baby girl names and must click on the name that is (currently) more popular. The game keeps going as long as you keep getting the answers right.
If you are in the process of naming your baby, I’m going to take the liberty of suggesting that you not tell relatives, friends, or anyone your name choice until
after the baby is born. Before the baby is born, you will hear negative reactions from someone you tell and it’s just so much better not to hear their opinions - or worse, have to listen to “better” suggestions for the remaining months until the baby is born. No one will tell you they hate the name after the baby is born. We didn’t learn this secret until our second, but it made a HUGE difference.
We found names that we both loved, loved, loved for our children and their names were chosen from a combination of origin, meaning, ancestry, and how well they rolled off our tongue! Luckily, there are a lot of sites on the web that can help you select a name for your baby. Our daughter ended up with a VERY unique name and our son ended up with a VERY popular name. They are both perfect.
Happy Baby Naming!!
